UCLA (13-2) tops NCBWA Division I Poll

DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 29th year with its 2026 weekly surveys.

The UCLA Bruins remain No. 1 after a 4-0 week and 3-0 Big Ten Conference weekend sweep of Ohio State to open circuit activity. Undefeated Texas climbed one spot to No. 2 ahead of Mississippi State, Georgia Tech and Auburn, respectively, to round out the Top Five.

Some of the top movers from the Week Four to Week Five polls are Southern Miss from No. 11 to 7, Oklahoma from No. 14 to 11, Wake Forest from No. 17 to 13, Virginia from No. 25 to 17, Oregon State from No. 22 to 19, undefeated USC from receiving votes to No. 20 and Kentucky from receiving votes to No. 25.

Southeastern Conference (11) and Atlantic Coast Conference (seven members) currently occupy 18 of the Top 25 slots with Big Ten contender USC entering the poll this week for the first time in ’26 at No. 20.

There have been six conferences (five this week plus independent Oregon State) represented in the first five standings of 2026, and there were 10 different conferences in the 2025 NCBWA polls.
